Yaminabe introduces new mechanic

Alright this is insane.

Yaminabe was recently added to the game and the Master chart introduces an entirely new mechanic to prsk's gameplay in that the speed changes mid-song.

It doesn't just slow down to a crawl far below the speed of what Master players usually play on, but then speeds up to I think 11.5? Even Master players almost never play at that speed, so it's super brutal, especially considering you're shot straight from this super slow section to an 11.5 onslaught. And it does this MULTIPLE TIMES. (This video doesn't even showcase the most brutal part imo.)

I know it's like blowing everyone's minds right now but I would actually be interested in seeing this mechanic come to some Expert charts in the future? But it seems like a Master-only thing. Ce la vie.

Ena becomes a POKEMON MASTER

Minori Suzuki, who voices Ena in PRSK, will be the voice of Liko, the new protagonist of the Pokemon anime, succeeding Ash. It's kind of a meme with my wife that PRSK and Pokemon has some overlap but it's cool to see it quite literally has official overlap, even if in some minor way.

Really cool! I'll probably check out the trailer when it drops to see how she portrays the new protag.

The White Day cast grows

The popular White Day event recently hit EN, and a new one is running on JP too. So the knights of good from the first White Day — Tsukasa, Akito, Mizuki, Shiho, and Len — now have dark/ambiguous counterparts, in Toya, Rui, Kaito, Miku, and Saki.

This has given the fans tons of fodder for fantasy AUs. My personal favorite interpretations are where Tsukasa is on the side of "good" and Saki on the side of "evil."

My personal headcanon is that Tsukasa became a knight of the kingdom to search for his long lost sister who disappeared several years ago. And her reason for disappearing being that her best friends — Ichika, Honami, and Shiho — have split across the country and into opposing factions. With Shiho being a rogue knight, Honami being trapped in an arranged marriage with the heir of another kingdom, and Ichika a travelling bard looking for answers. Saki is so desperate to bring them back together, she would even go against the kingdom and use powers gifted to her by a blood mage (Rui.)

The downside is her body can't hold such power, and it's gradually draining her health. And she can't tell Tsukasa or he would put a stop to all of this before she can manage to save and reunite her friends. She also wants to protect Rui because it's not his fault — she specifically withheld from him the critical information that she was banned from using magic by her parents, ever since she became bedridden from practicing sorcery in her youth.

During that time of serious illness, her friend group drifted apart, so by the time she had recovered, they had gone separate ways. Tsukasa had become an apprentice knight with the promise to protect her ever since she got sick, but once he'd graduated, Saki had vanished, and his new motive was to find her. And once he does, they have to fight ...

While she cares for Rui, she's also trying to protect her brother from him. Because she knows Rui is enamored with Tsukasa that he'll take any opportunity to capture him, and while she knows Rui wouldn't hurt him (especially considering how many sleepless nights he's spent trying to undo the damage he's done to her ever since teaching her blood magic), she knows not everyone in the dark order would be so considerate, and may even kill a white knight on sight should they find Tsukasa in their territory.

Meanwhile, Saki and Toya have been bonding, so much so that Saki learned he's the original crown prince of their kingdom — a boy that she and Tsukasa played with so much when they were kids. And it's such a golden opportunity; if she can convince Toya to reveal his status and return to his rightful place, the war between the dark order and the white knights could finally end. But it's not that easy ...

April Fool theories

Still a month away from the next april fools event, but considering how good the last two were, let's consider the possibilities:

Personality swap
This is my favorite theory I've seen by far. Airi/Shizuku personality swap alone would make it worth it.
Unit Swap
Instead of shuffling units, swap the units entirely. Everyone in VBS are now idols known as MMJ, for example.
Sekai Swap
Just drop WxS in the Empty Sekai, see what happens.
Sekailoid Swap/Shuffle
Put the Sekailoids in the Sekai they don't belong in, like WxS Meiko in Street Sekai.
Voice Swap
Most unlikely imo but objectively the funniest. for example Mizuki is voiced by Ena's VA. Even funnier if they're all self-aware of it.
OCs into Vocaloids
Specifically the unit leads. Hearing their voices as synthetic voice banks would be so damn cool. Will never happen tho.

Anyway enjoy this meme I spent too much time on
